SYDNEY – Local government office for the Sutherland Shire Council noticed a dramatic increase in productivity on Monday morning, reportedly the first weekday since Reddit and Twitter shit the bed.

Reddit made news recently that it shat the bed due to its new controversial decision to charge third-party apps up to $20M a year to use its API, effectively blocking smaller and arguably better apps. The move was met with complaints from the community, who protested by going dark with its subreddits, rendering a lot of its content unviewable.

Twitter also shat the bed on the weekend when its owner announced its new ‘rate limit succeeded’ system, where unverified accounts can only view 600 tweets a day, and verified (blue-check marks that cost $8 a month) can view 6,000. This led to a sudden outcry of the app’s usability and some claimed it was due to unpaid bills of its hosting service.

‘These two tech giants shitting the bed has been a blessing for me’, said office manager Gareth Johnston. ‘Productivity is already up by 27% on the first morning since Reddit and Twitter shit the bed. I hope Instagram and Facebook shit the bed soon too’.

Employees were reached for comment but did not respond as they had a lot of catching up to do.
