Melbourne – Chief Financial Officer Richard Hollister who heads up all money matters at the firm he’s worked at since 1997 also seemingly has not read the news since then.
As a guest speaker at a recent event Mr. Hollister shared his insights to the longevity of his esteemed career. ‘It’s good to have financial heroes, and I’ve been impressed by Jeffrey Epstein and Bernie Madoff for some time now. The way they conduct themselves and put their clients first is remarkable. It’s something I strive towards everyday.’
He continued, to a stunned crowd; ‘Furthermore, I’ve met them both at functions a few years ago and it seems that the secret to Bernie’s success is that he’s’ interested in the little things, like he asked me how much money I’m willing to invest in his business portfolios. And Jeffrey, what can I say about him? He was regaling me with stories of lavish parties on his private island that the likes of Bill Gates and Donald Trump had attended. Very inspiring.’ He finalised his talk by reiterating you don’t get by in business by consuming news 24/7, and that he hasn’t read a paper in more than a decade, nor has he kept in touch with misters Madoff and Epstein.
After his talk Mr. Hollister said the applause was scarce but polite.
